Description:
The Love’s United Methodist Scholarship for Christian Education was established in 2008 with a gift from Mary Leight Booe in memory of her husband, Phil. The scholarship may be awarded annually to deserving students who are current, attending members of Love’s United Methodist Church in Walkertown, NC, and who will pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees in a Christian Education field. Initially, the scholarship will provide an award in the amount of $700 to one full-time student attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution. Scholarships will be applied to the cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, room, board, books, and other college expenses.
Additional Information
To receive consideration, applicants must: • be current, attending members of Love’s United Methodist Church (the contact at Love’s church will verify the status of applicants as current members) • have a minimum cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 2.5 or acollege GPA of 2.5 • be 17 to 25 years of age at time of application submittal • be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a Christian education field such as pastoral counseling, divinity school, Biblical studies, chaplaincy, theology, or religious and ministries studies Students must reapply each year, but will not be eligible beyond an equivalent of four consecutive undergraduate years, or three consecutive graduate years. In the event that the yearly applicant pool has more qualified applicants than the maximum number of scholarships available, those applicants with the highest cumulative GPA will receive the awards
