| For entering freshmen who are Texas residents with financial need who are majoring in engineering, biochemistry, biology, botany, chemistry, geological sciences, microbiology, physics, or zoology. Academic achievement and leadership are considered. The scholarship can be renewed annually for three additional years if the following are maintained: a minimum academic load of 27 hours over one year; minimum grade point average of 3.0 each semester; major field of study continues to be in the above list; and continued financial need. | |
