| Since 2006, the Grainger Tools for Tomorrow Scholarship Program has helped technical education students across the country realize their educational goals. The scholarship recognizes outstanding students with a $2000 scholarship prior to their second year of schooling and a customized Westward toolkit upon successful completion of the student technical education program. Applicants must be United States citizens or legal residents entering their final year at Salt Lake Community College in which they are studying electronic systems, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, pneumatics, welding, automotive, construction, facilities maintenance or other industrial trade. Students must be full-time enrolled both fall and spring semesters and graduate from the same school at which they applied – the scholarship is not transferable to another institution. The scholarship monies must also be used by the student within 12 months of receipt. Two selected winners will be notified by Salt Lake Community College and Grainger. All winners will be required to sign a photo release, submit to a background check and provide a quote, biography and photo headshot. | |

| Criteria to Apply: Completed scholarship application, the form is attached One letter of recommendation from a professor, teacher or advisor A list of clubs, activities, accomplishments, leadership roles held and years involved, including those related to their field of study or military job experience. An essay of 200-300 words on why the student chose to study technical education, how their achievements and/or leadership roles have helped them grow individually and their future goals within the technical field.
