|Established to provide college scholarships to dependent children of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.|
|If law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty after the state in which they served joins the Police Corps, their dependent children may be eligible for these scholarships. To be considered ”dependent” at the time of the parent’s death, students must be under 21 or be receiving more than one half of their financial support from their parents. This is a noncompetitive program. To be eligible for this program, a student must attend (or be about to attend) a public or nonprofit 4-year college or university on a full-time basis. Students who attend community college are eligible once they transfer to a 4-year institution.|
