| This scholarship is available to students who have demonstrated a commitment and aptitude for addressing outdoor-related issues and topics through writing. Applicants must be enrolled full time in an undergraduate program at a 4-year college or university. They must have earned at least a 3.0 grade point average, be juniors or seniors in college, and submit 1) 3 writing samples that best exemplify their writing skills; 2) an essay on how their current writing experience figures into their goals for the future; 3) an essay on how they would spend $10,000 on the outdoors if they wre given that sum; and 4) either a 500-word column on a current wilderness or outdoor industry issue or a 500-word essay on the importance of perserving our wilderness. | |
