Established to recognize and reward outstanding student films on themes that ”explore the complexity of the human condition.”
Additional Information
This program is open to undergraduate and graduate film and video students. Applicants must submit films that reflect the following values: tolerance and respect for diversity in the human community, peacemaking and dialogue in lieu of gratuitous violence, respect for human life instead of its degradation or disposability, equality and dignity in relationships, and hope and the possibility of change over nihilism and despair. All generes (drama, comedy, animation, documentary, and narrative) are accepted. Entries must 1) be in English, have English subitiles, or be dubbed in English; 2) be under 90 minutes in length; 3) have been completed during the previous two years while the filmmaker was a student at a recognized educational institute; and 4) be submitted on 1/2 or 3/4 inch VHS (NTSC) for jury screening.
