Established to provide financial assistance for college to students who have a dog-related background.
Additional Information
This program is open to students who are seniors in high school. They must be citizens of North America and be interested in dogs or have participated in junior handling classes at dog shows. Applicants whose parents or other close relatives have been active as dog breeders, exhibitors, judges, or club officers are also considered. All applicants must submit 250-word essays on: 1) their personal goals in college and in their career; and 2) why people own dogs. Preference is given to those who are active in the sport of dogs. Adults returning to school are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on involvement with dog-related activities, scholastic ability, financial need, and character.
