| Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: 1) members of the Order of the Eastern Star; 2) graduating high school seniors entering their first year of college or university; 3) students who have begun their higher education but need financial aid to continue; or 4) those who have not been able to go directly from high school to college. California residency and U.S. citizenship are required. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a college, university, community college, or trade school in California, although consideration is given to students applying for out-of-state schools. Selection is based on scholastic record (minimum grade point average of 3.0), financial need, the purpose and need for higher education, and character of the applicant. | |
