| AAUW strives to break through educational and economic barriers so that all women have an equal chance. Through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research AAUW advances equity for women and girls. The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide scholarships to encourage women to pursue higher education in order to increase their ability to have a positive impact in their field and community, including women returning to school to update their knowledge/skills | |

| At least one student will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a woman who meets all of the following: 1. Has completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours at the time of application, 2. Is currently working towards an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or certificate at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States (full-time or part-time), 3. Is pursuing a career that promotes equity for women and girls, education, health, and or positive societal change, 4. Has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, 5. Has either graduated from a St. Vrain Valley School District high school or is a current resident of the St. Vrain Valley School District. Selection will be based on the applicant’s: 1. Commitment to pursuing a career that promotes equity for women and girls, education, health, and/or positive societal change (most important), 2. Demonstration of community engagement, volunteer work, and/or community service hours, 3. Academic achievement, 4. Potential for success in achieving their stated goals and for having a positive impact on their community. Other information: 1. Prior recipients of the AAUW Longmont Scholarship are eligible to re-apply. 2. The program does not provide funding for CEUs, CLUs, or other similar courses required for state licensing renewal or salary advancement. 3. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees only. Award amounts may be used toward one semester/term or split between semesters/terms. Application for this scholarship must include: 1. Completed application form. 2. A personal letter describing how your coursework and career choice promote equity for women and girls, education, health, and/or positive societal change. 3. A transcript (or transcripts) showing all college work completed. The minimum required is 30 hours. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. | |
