Description:
This scholarship was established by Dale Sherrod and his children in memory of Madeline, his wife and their mother. Student's are selected based on their financial need, academic achievement, church, school, and community involvement, and the strength of their personal statement and letter of recommendation. One student is selected each year to receive this $1,500 scholarship. This is a renewable scholarship for $1,500 for up to three additional years.
Additional Information
Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college, university or community college in the U.S. beginning in summer or fall 2011. The scholarship is renewable for up to 3 additional consecutive years by maintaining a minimum 2.5 grade point average, studying full-time and completing at least 12 credits per semester, and providing the necessary documentation. Selection based on: 1). Financial need – major consideration 2). Strength of personal statement 3). Strength of letter of recommendation 4). Church, school and community involvement 2). Academics
