Description:
The William Ragsdale Froelich Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 by friends and family of Will Froelich to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Alleghany County. Froelich, a young man who lived life beautifully, intelligently and passionately, died tragically in an accident at the age of 17 at Roaring Gap, a place he loved dearly. The scholarship may provide non-renewable awards in the range of $500 - $2500 based on demonstrated need for students who will attend an accredited vocational/technical school, community college or college/ university in pursuit of a certificate, diploma or degree. Scholarships may be applied to cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, books and on-campus room and board.
Additional Information
To receive consideration, applicants must: • be residents of Alleghany County • be a graduating high school senior • have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 • demonstrate community involvement and/or employment • demonstrate financial need • evidence a desire to impact the world in a positive manner
