| These scholarships were initiated in 1990 as a reward to members of the volunteer Miss America Hostess Committee. The award provides funding to qualified hostesses who seek to further their education on a graduate or undergraduate level, certification program or with courses leading to improvement of career skills. | |

| Recipients must have fulfilled the necessary time commitment to be considered an “Active Hostess” or an “Active VIH Hostess”. Applicants are judged on career goals, course selection and anticipated expenses. | |
