Steve Allen, comedian, movie star, author, humanitarian, and most of all, prolific composer of songs, was a true friend of Golden West College. Over the years, Steve Allen visited the college during “jazz” week and performed in concert for the students and staff with instructor/musician Tom Kubis.

Steve Allen visited music classes and shared his experiences in the entertainment/music industry with music students giving them words of encouragement. The GWC Foundation Board of Directors and David Anthony, GWC Music Instructor and former Dean of Creative Arts, established this scholarship for students who are interested in music, theater, or dance.
