| Applicant must be an oral deaf student born with a severe or profound hearing impairment or who suffered such a loss before acquiring language. He or she must use speech and residual hearing and/or speechreading (lipreading) as the preferred/customary form of communication and demonstrate a potential for leadership. Applicant must be accepted by or already enrolled in a regular, full-time college or university program for hearing students. Applicants who have serious handicaps in addition to their hearing impairments are encouraged to apply. | |
