Description:
Established to assist students whose families are members of the National Foster Parent Association and who are interested in attending college or vocational school.
Additional Information
This program is open to students who are in foster care at the time of application; are entering the first year of college or its equivalent (including vocational school, job training, correspondence studies, or GED work); and reside with an association member family. Adopted children and birth children of foster parents are also eligible. Students entering a college or university must be high school seniors (regardless or age); students entering vocational or equivalent training must be at least 17 years of age, whether in or out of school. All applicants must submit a statement (300 to 500 words) on why they want to further their education and why they should be considered for this scholarship. Financial need is considered in the selection process.
