Description:
Established in 1994 by members of the Smith-Waterhouse family of Koloa, Kaua'i, this scholarship honors the memory of Dr. James W. and Melicent Knapp Smith, who arrived in Koloa in 1842, and their descendants Dr. Jared Knapp Smith, Dr. Alfred Herbert and Mabel Palmer Waterhouse. Each of these doctors and their wives were active in founding and furthering public education in the Koloa area.

Be a resident of one of the following Kaua'i areas: Koloa (96756), including Oma'o & Poipu (96756), Lawai (96765) or Kalaheo (96741). Minimum GPA: 2.0. Two letters of recommendation & essay required
