Description:
Established to provide financial assistance for education in liberal arts fields to mature women who are lineal or collateral descendants of Confederate veterans.
Additional Information
Eligible to apply for these scholarships are women over the age of 30 who are lineal or collateral descendants of Confederate soldiers or sailors. Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a graduate or undergraduate student at a college or university in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia. Their field of study must be the liberal arts, including history, literature, ancient or modern languages, philosophy, or government and political science. Selection is based more on need than academic excellence.
