| This program is open to honorably discharged veterans who served with the U.S. armed forces in any war and who are residents of Montana. Only veterans who at some time qualified for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits, but who are no longer eligible, are entitled to this waiver. Veterans who served in the armed forces subsequent to the conflict in Vietnam and are pursuing their initial undergraduate degree are also eligible if they received an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for service in Lebanon, Grenada, or Panama, or served in a combat theater in the Persian Gulf between August 2, 1990 and April 11, 1991. Financial need is considered in the selection process. | |
