Established to provide financial assistance for undergraduate or graduate work to nontraditional students in Oregon.
Additional Information
This program is open to nontraditional students in Oregon who are working and will continue to work at least 20 hours per week while attending college at least three-quarter time. Applicants must be interested in pursuing careers in the ”helping professions.” Preference is given to applicants who 1) can demonstrate a record of volunteer or work experience relevant to the chosen profession; 2) are a grade of a public alternative Oregon high school, or a GED recipient, or transferring from an Oregon community college to a 4-year college or university; and 3) have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher during the past three quarters of study. As part of the selection process, applicants must provide essays and letters of reference on how they balance school, work, and personal life as well as their experiences in overcoming obstacles.
