Description:
The Alice Conger Patterson Scholarship was established as a tribute to the work of Alice Conger Patterson as Dean of Continuing Studies at Salem College. This scholarship is dedicated to helping deserving adult women achieve their educational goals. The scholarship may provide a $500 non-renewable award for students who will attend one of the specified four-year colleges or universitities listed in the “Criteria” section. Scholarships will be applied to the cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, on-campus room and board, books and other college expenses
Additional Information
To receive consideration, applicants must: • have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.6 on most recent grade transcript • be female students, 23 years of age or older • have earned a high school diploma or equivalent certificate (GED, home school completion, or adult high school diploma) • be applying to or are currently enrolled in a SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) accredited four-year college or university in pursuit of a first undergraduate degree at one of the following: Salem College, UNC-Greensboro, NC A&T State University, Winston-Salem State University, High Point University, Wake Forest University, Guilford College, or Greensboro College. Preference will be given to students at Salem College. • demonstrate a strong purpose in pursuing a liberal arts degree • demonstrate financial need, but not restricted to lower family incomes
